YORK TRIP 7 - 10 MAY 2024
Day 1
The bus left school at 5.00am, travelling to Dublin where we boarded the 8.00am ferry and arrived in Holyhead about 11.30am.
From Holyhead we made our way to Manchester for our visit to the magnificent Etihad Stadium.
We then journeyed to The Premier Inn in Goole, where we got settled in for the night after a very welcome dinner!
Day 2
Not quite as early a start, with our first stop at the Jorvik Viking Museum in York city, where we were treat to a walk back in time, to when the Vikings lived in York, nearly over 1000 years ago.
We then visited York Minster, a fabulous cathedral in the heart of the city.
In the afternoon we travelled to the Bronte Parsonage, where we explored the home of Patrick Bronte and his family.
We were delighted to visit the sweet shop in Haworth village and get more than our share of sugar fixes!
Day 3
What a great day!
We spent most of the day at Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo. We tried out most of the rides and roller coasters and enjoyed seeing lots of the animals enjoying the sunshine.
We ended the day with some 10 Pin bowling with some very competitive teams!!
Day 4
The journey home!
After a very early breakfast we set off for Holyhead.
We stopped at the town with the longest name in Wales- very hard to say, never mind spell!!
What a great trip- thank you to everyone, who made it so enjoyable.
It was great to hear about the work of B Positive from David and Sarah.
P5, P6 and P7 had great fun at their Christmas party, especially playing the Honeymoon Express!
